My name is Carolyn Soma Shoemaker, and I am Artist, Designer, and Visual Arts Instructor based in Oakland Township, Michigan. My passion for art ignited at a young age, fueled by encouragement from my high school art teacher to pursue a career in this field. I earned my Bachelor of Arts Degree in Graphic Communication from the College for Creative Studies in Detroit, MI. Following my studies, I worked as a professional Graphic Designer for two major hospitals the Detroit area. Currently, I serve as a Visual Arts Instructor at Paint Creek Center for the Arts in Rochester, Michigan, where I discovered my love for teaching. Witnessing my students' progress and enthusiasm is incredibly rewarding. My artistic journey has been so rewarding and with the unwavering support of my family, friends, students, and colleagues, I continue to do what I love and share it with all of you.
